Paintball 13/2/11

Another paintball session..

Had a good game with Team Blitz again.. This time, they made vast improvements.. I was playing dorito side which literally wasn't a dorito side coz the doritos were at the back and cans were in the middle of the field.. I ran out of paint thru the first game.. The second game, i got shot out gunfighting my mirror.. it was the same exact problem of snapshooting.. The ball going outwards away from the bunker instead of straight down the side..

Point to take note that i spam quite alot of paint. So no go to sharing paints. A bag for each training. Full pods in.

Big Ben was around so i requested him to put me thru some drills. Since he was a back player, he taught us a back player drill.. Told him i was playing mid/front, so this drill could help me with a fill-in/insert.. It was a drill from the back centre and with the gun up, run and gun to a corner then knee/hip sliding into the corner bunker then gun up to shoot down either the tape or the inside..
It was great.. it was tiring too.. so i asked him about the problem i have of snapshooting..

and little that i know. the answer has been staring at me the whole time..!! The answer lay in being close to the "magic line"..!! instead of standing in the middle of the bunker where when you come out, your barrel would be off coz of the positiong you're standing at, stand close to the magic line of the side that you're gonna snapshoot from, that way, the barrel will come out straight instead of going off.. and also.. to make use of all the sides of the bunker, especially, the least expected low side of the bunker.. meaning to snap out while kneeling/squatting to gunfight a standing guy..

Ben also mentioned that the 3 point crawl is very important for the snake player.. and walking the field too. coz the poles of the field netting can be used as indicators to know where to shoot at when popping up instead of popping up then finding where to shoot.. And also to move up and down the snake instead of staying at one spot. To keep the other players guessing coz the snake is a hotspot. Another trick is to kick the bunker at the back to "mislead" other players that you're there..

Really learnt alot from Big Ben.. Talked to him about sponsorship too.. and how Dye Precision has help mould the paintball community in Singapore with sponsorship of equipment..

Hafiz for Red 7s..?? hmmm...

i also saw the power of a loader on a mech marker, about the same as having an e-marker. Big ben got me to shoot his PMR which was kinda cool.. i can't walk the trigger for nuts.. xD.. the marker shoots damn straight and the trigger is damn sensitive to the touch.. I'm gonna get a rotor real soon.. either end of this month or when march pay comes in..

on another note. i've been spending quite some time playing paintball with jordan.. and jordan plays snake.. maybe i could play his back since it's a position that complements the snake and has to work hand in hand with. and since i do alot of ballin' with him.. might as well work in tandem with him..

I can imagine myself laning out the snake and down the snake tape.. xD
