8km run
47:39minutes..
Started off very slow.. but i like it =)
Developed a new, hopefully more energy efficient, stride..
the idea is to minimise lifting the knees but maintaining a fast flexion at the knee.
Moving the heel closer to the butt, unlocking calf and hamstring muscle potential..
Good Run.
Fishing:
Jurong Lake Northern Promenade.Banks are lined with trees, caution on the casts.
Water has lots of rubbish, only poppers and topwater lures to be used. Anything other than this, would result in reeling in lots of rubbish.
Rapala X-rap drew in lots of rubbish.
Rattlin Rapala lost due to getting ensnared in rubbish.
Yozuri Arms Popper lost up on a tree due to improper cast.
Skitter Pop fun to use and has lots of control and good action, better than Yozuri Popper.
Catch Report = 0
Pasir Ris Beach.
Saltwater luring.
Sungai Api-api sides and Tidebreakers steep inclined walls may get lures ensnared.
Luring from the Beach, ankle deep in water.
High tide moving onto low tide.
Used Rapala X-rap.
Taught Ryan how to fish, while reeling in about 5m to shore, got a medium sized Barramundi. Pic will be up soon.
Another angler got a big catfish in a similar fashion using the same Rapala X-rap.

Bought a total new spinning set today, from E-waves Fishbyte:
A Rod Ford Creation Magnum Shoot and Crank Spinning Stage.
A Daiwa Sweepfire 2500 spinning reel
and also bought several lures, all from Rapala:
2 Skitter Pop
a Mini Fat Rap
a Rattlin' Rapala
and an X-Rap.
And a new braided line:
Berkley Fireline Crystal
Learnt a whole lot of new things today from Melvin. The Shop assistant that helped me with my selection of equipment. He gave me a good price discount and also good insight, tips and techniques of much better fishing.
Learnt about drag and it's purpose: to tire the fish out. Let the fish take the drag then once you feel the drag slowing down, tap the drag to stop it then reel it in and fight the fish.
Learnt about the types of rod action and how the action of the rod determines the amount of action that you get from good fights with slow action rods which bend close to the grip to ultrafast rods that bend right at the tip which provide good easy hooksets on the fish but not much of a fight.
Learnt about the some ways to work the lure. Twitch, then reel in the slack then twitch again.
He mentioned that Luring is challenging cause it makes the fisherman think. Many variables affect the success of a fisherman's luring, he said to think like the fish. Like when in the morning when the water is still cool, go for a deep diving lure to get to the fish at the bottom. Then when it starts to get warm when the fish are aggressive and feeding, go for topwater lures or shallow ones. Local freshwater fish such as peacock bass and snakeheads are aggressive and go for topwater lures. Just have to work the bait right.
After today's shopping session. I will most definitely PATRONISE E-waves fishbyte.

Learnt a couple of things from FishingNewsRoom.
The shock/bite leader line has to be 3 times the strength of the main line..
For example, 10lb braid with 30lb fluorocarbon leader.
The amount of weight to be put on a line is 1 ounce for every 10lbs line in the shock leader.
I'm thinking of getting a full Daiwa set.
Daiwa Promaster baitcasting reel
Daiwa Procyon rod
And I found a fishing tackle shop in clementi -- E-waves Fishbyte.

Monday 4/10/10
Fishing: Location Jurong Lake, Used a Yozuri Popper. My brother and his buddies used live guppies which got them 2 peacock bass which they released. Lots of peacock bass eating flies off the water surface. Looks like a good spot for fly fishing. Read a fly fishing forum yesterday and seems interesting.
Use of guppies means have to use smaller lures such as the Yozuri Aile Goby. Really need to get a new rod. Zul's proper rod with a rapala popper provided great cast and great line twitching.
May take up fly fishing soon.
